Shared fields for system-wide reporting and filtering

When working with multiple projects, a range of different trackers may be used by various team members. Certain data fields may be shared across these trackers. Filtering and reporting items in such a multi-workspace environment can be challenging. That’s why we’re introducing shared fields in codebeamer X 4.1!

Shared fields are globally defined (system-wide) fields that you can use to group different fields from different trackers and even different workspaces. You can then simply refer to all these grouped fields in a report. The result? Shared fields make it easy to filter and order work items, create reports, and build traceability queries.

Floating licenses: flexible licensing option to be combined with Named users

In real-life projects, certain groups of users (e.g. software developers) may use codebeamer X all day, every day – while other stakeholders (such as managers) only need periodic access to the system. So far, codebeamer X only offered named licenses: one user, one license (optional Reviewer licenses with limited access were also available). To allow more flexibility in managing licenses, we’re introducing floating licenses in this new release, which may be used in combination with named licenses.

With floating licenses, groups of users can share a license. Floating licenses allow one user to be logged in at a time, but that user could be any member of your team. Using a combination of floating and named licenses provides more flexibility in managing your users and lets you save license costs!

Better visualization of workspace data with the all-new Tracker Tree page

In complex projects, a workspace may contain dozens or even hundreds of trackers to get the job done. Providing clarity when managing all those trackers can get difficult – but not with version 4.1! The Tracker Tree page in this new release enables better visualization and grouping of your workspace data.

Use the Tracker Tree page to explore and visualize your data. See the number of open work items, rename or move trackers between groups with simple drag & drop, or add widgets to facilitate your work. All this on a simple, easy-to-use page that makes tracker management a breeze.

Saving you clicks: Your favorite views are now automatically remembered

When tons of information need to be managed, staying on top of things can be challenging. The key to efficiency is staying organized – with the least clicks possible. In codebeamer X 4.1, your column view settings (including the visibility, size, and sequence of columns) are remembered automatically. As long as your session is live, you’ll always have key information at your fingertips, making navigation a breeze.
