What is the difference between named and floating licenses?
With named licenses, each and every user needs to be named and granted a license. Floating licenses, on the other hand, allow a pool of users to share the purchased number of floating licenses. As long as a floating license is available (e.g. the number of users currently logged in is lower than the number of floating licenses purchased), any user can access codebeamer. Many of our customers combine named and floating licenses.
Can I combine named and floating licenses?
Yes, it is possible to combine named and floating licenses. For instance, you can purchase named licenses for your developers, floating licenses for all your other teams, and an additional set of 10 Reviewer licenses for your customers. This ensures that all stakeholders have access to your projects at all times.
What is the default time out for floating licenses?
The default time-out period for a floating user session is 90 minutes. When you log out, your session will be immediately free for others.
Can I change floating to named licenses and vice versa?
Yes, you have the option to make adjustments regarding the ratio of named and floating licenses within 6 months of your purchase date.
How am I going to receive my License Code?
Shortly after receiving your quote request, our Sales team will send you a temporary License Code via e-mail. You can use this code to start working with codebeamer ALM right away. Once we have received payment, you will be given a new, final License code for your purchased codebeamer license.
Can I use the licenses from any location?
Yes, you can use the licenses from any country, continent, time zone and location.
Is there a minimum number of licenses to purchase?
