We’re sure Intland’s team wasn’t the only one looking forward to this year’s Embedded World from 24-26 February. As the largest conference & exhibition for all professionals working in the world of embedded technology, EW is one of the year’s most highly anticipated events. Now that the 3-day event is over, let us share our experiences both as guests and exhibitors.
In the focus of this year’s conference were the topics of Internet of Things and (IoT) and Security & Safety. Among many other industry experts, Intland Software’s CEO Janos Koppany also gave a talk, titled Internet of Things Changes the Definition of What a Product Is on how IoT is transforming the way we see products. In his talk, he outlined the evolution of smart products, and how the addition of connectivity not only expanded the functionality of these products, enabling companies to offer never before seen services, but in fact this has fundamentally changed the definition of product, and what customers expect a product to be capable of.
To put it simply, products are no longer just physical devices, but instead these additional services and systems increasingly form the backbone of all smart products. For more details on the topic, please find Intland’s white paper, as well as the complete presentation given at Embedded World 2015 in our latest blog post.
Trends in embedded development
We have also seen increased interest in development models combining V-model and Agile methods for use in software and mechanical engineering. Along with SAFe®, these Hybrid methods are of growing interest to companies in various industries.
With almost constant traffic, Intland’s booth at this year’s EW was a popular one: our brand new brochures that you can download below this post proved to be a hit among those interested in codeBeamer’s requirements management, software development and QA & testing functionality. In case you’re interested but couldn’t make it to our booth on Embedded World, don’t fret – feel free to reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help with whatever questions you may have.
Overall, 2015 has been another great year of Embedded World. With almost 30,000 expert visitors, over 1,500 congress participants and about 900 exhibitors from over 35 countries, it has been another major event for embedded technology experts. We are proud to be one of the regular exhibitors at EW, and hope you found the event as insightful as valuable as we did. See you next year!
