Supporting Compliance with IEC 61508 and ISO 26262

The certification provides assurance that specific features of codeBeamer ALM meet critical functional safety requirements as per the guidelines of the general safety standard IEC 61508, and its derivative ISO 26262 for automotive systems development.

IEC 61508 is the general international standard that aims the ensure the functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems. According to TÜV’s “Trusted Tool” certification, codeBeamer ALM is qualified to develop software systems up to SIL 3.

ISO 26262, a derivative of IEC 61508 specifically created for the automotive sector, is the international standard for functional safety of electrical and/or electronic systems in road vehicles. Based on the assumed use cases a maximum level confidence of TCL 2 / ASIL D has been awarded to codeBeamer.
